You know what single element links all deaths in the construction and transport sectors (CP, 16/11)? Hi-vis workwear. Yep, every single fatality was wearing a brightly coloured death shirt. Effective or what?

Woz, Parramatta Park

While coal hugging fossil fools (CP, 16/11) turn a blind eye to the tsunami of flood water that has devastated the lives of thousands of people in central western NSW, Chris Bowen is at COP27 asking nations to follow Australia’s climate U-turn.

Travis, Clifton Beach

OK, so leftie organisations don’t want kids in watch-houses, (CP, 16/11). But those kids aren’t behaving like civilised humans, they’re behaving like packs of animals. So put them in cages. It worked for Obama, who built cages for the illegal border crosser children.

Dennis, Port Douglas

“Is having kids in the watch-house the solution?” Yes. Because it keeps us safe.

Over-It, Cairns

Speaking of those perspex Covid barriers (CP, 16/11), I was always amazed that the airborne virus didn’t simply go with the air currents that went over and around those barriers. I was also amazed that Covid could be inhaled by someone standing in a restaurant but not be the same person if they sat down.

Two of the many miraculous features of the clever-but-stupid Covid virus.

Ami, Kuranda

So the state doesn’t want to buy Taylor Point (CP, 16/11). This is the perfect opportunity for the 2360 petitioners to pool their money and buy it so they can keep it exactly the way they like it. How cool is that? Mikey, Trinity Beach

Maritime unions pretty much killed coastal shipping, now they’re going to do the same to cruise shipping. The maritime unions have been at war with the Australian people since at least WWII.

Cedric, Kuranda

Re: Michael Barry Henderson (CP, 16/11). As if foreign owned wind farm operators without the slightest respect for our forests, native wildlife or Indigenous peoples’ culture are in business to provide cheap green energy for future generations of Australians. You are completely delusional believing politicians wasting mega billions of borrowed money on a super grid will ever provide the cheapest renewable energy possible. Only hydro electricity can do this.

Rex, Edmonton

When I read there was “an explosion in electric vehicles” I naturally expected to see the rest of the story discuss battery fires. But it was a hopeful projection about numbers, despite the fact they’re too expensive, too impractical, and we don’t have enough electricity to charge them all if they did become popular.

Fireman Sam, Smithfield

It’s extremely alarming that in

November, thousands continue to be rescued from more record flash flooding across the west of NSW. ADF helicopters are assisting with rooftop rescues, along with a further 12 helicopters from NZ. We can’t sandbag our way out of climate change.

Elizabeth, Earlville

I would like to say a big thank you to all the Sunbus drivers. What you have to put up with is appalling, yet you keep going with a smile. Michelle, Cairns

Cr Moller (CP, 16/11) says it will be a matter for landlords whether they pass the cost on. Letters to this page have already confirmed they will. If implemented, rents will go up forcing tenants to find alternative accommodation – whatever that may be.
