This week we noticed that the north side of the green has now been sheltered by protective shading making the game been now available in almost all weather conditions which was appreciated by the seventeen players enjoying lawn bowls last Monday. The winning team was skipped by Max Harker with supporting players Mike Ireland and Val Fallon. The game was played under pleasant conditions with a cooling breeze present. We welcomed another new player and it is hoped that next week the number of players will continue to increase. The easiest way to join our group of mainly senior bowlers is to contact Rosemary, our selector, by phone on 040962423 any time before next Monday at 11.00am. Details for new bowlers and any visitors such as name of parent club, position normally played and a mobile phone number will assist in the selection process. A sheet is also available inside the clubhouse at West Cairns Bowls Club. Cards are called at 1.15pm in preparation for play commencing at 1.30pm Afternoon tea is included in the green fee with the game ending at 4.30pm when a winning card is drawn to decide the winning team. These details are included in this report next week. Next Monday, the committee will meet at 11.30am to discuss arrangements for the Christmas end of year function and all those members are asked to attend.
