Wait, what? With a Ukrainian missile hitting Poland, shouldn’t Article V of the NATO agreement be enacted, requiring NATO members to launch all out war on Ukraine?

Confused, Cairns

What! The largest flood operation in NSW state’s history (CP, 18/11). Lounge chair climate professors are always good for a bit of a giggle, only trouble is “nobody is listening.” The last bunch of climate change deniers got 4% of the vote.

Re: Bob Manning’s investment

property rate rise, if he had stopped spending ratepayers’ money on expensive new projects and just maintained what we already have, Edmonton would have a swimming pool and the council’s budget would be in the black.

Anon, Cairns

My overall opinion of our PM and Federal Government is pretty positive. A few hiccups, the odd questionable action by a minister, but overall, all good. Now announcing that we won’t support Taiwan in joining the Pacific Trade Pact has raised its head. Why wouldn’t we support a liberal democracy? It’s time we stood against tyranny and oppression and supported the Taiwanese government and its people. Doffing our hats to the tyrants in Beijing is not the future any of us want.

Rick, Redlynch

Hundreds of jobs to be generated with this space project (CP, 19/11), there are hundreds of jobs around Cairns at present and nobody is filling these positions.

Anthony, Redlynch

I agree, Bill Blackmore (CP, 19/11). It’s useless trying to help cult-bots understand reality. Their social standing depends on their adherence to the cult’s groupthink. The best we can do is juxtapose our facts with their fiction to help openminded folk see both sides.

Juss Sayen, Cairns

Albo (CP, 19/11) is just stupid enough to reinstate the French carbonspewing diesel submarines deal. Heloise, Mossman

Americans will be pleased to see the back of Nancy Pelosi (CP, 19/11). 40% of all the debt ever racked up by the US government was incurred during her terms as House Speaker. Republican, Cairns

Nancy Pelosi got a lot done with a majority of 9 in the last congress. Let’s see how McCarthy goes. Democrat, Cairns

The massive waiting lists for EVs in Australia indicate that supply is limiting sales, and for a country relying on production from overseas, it’s imperative that car manufacturers can deliver on acceptable timescales, if we are to reduce our carbon emissions up to 43% by 2030.

The Captain’s pick for Queensland Police has been disastrous. Reviewing the list of our Premier’s failure provides a glimpse into a government focused on themselves and their union buddies. Health, youth justice, ambulance, hospitals, law and order, infrastructure and the list goes on. An absolute disgrace. Brad, Redlynch

Volodomyr Zelenskyy’s false claim a Russian missile hit Poland, when it was actually a Ukrainian missile, was incredibly dangerous and could have triggered a nuclear war. Australia must immediately stop supporting Ukraine in any way.

Skye, Machans Beach

Wow! 78% of parents/guardians willing to support their child charged with crimes. Ummm shouldn’t you be doing that anyway? Youth crime is out of control but there’s always excuses for these poor little crims as to why they break into houses and I’m sure they “don’t know” they’re doing wrong. Yeh right.
