Who is more likely to represent the wishes of the Aboriginal people? Senator Nampijinpa Price and Warren Mundine or Albo and Chris Bowen? Hmm?

Curious, Cairns

Mexico’s President says the United States government cannot talk about human rights with Julian Assange detained. The same applies to the Australian government.

Re: These shops that keep getting broken into all the time. Why don’t they get a guard dog and leave it in the shop overnight.

Lofty, Yorkeys Knob

In the EU, banks can take their depositors’ money to save themselves in a collapse. Would Albo please categorically rule out an Australian bank bail-in and properly fund the bank guarantee scheme, please?

JS, Edge Hill

It’s got me stuffed why towns surrounded by floodwaters think they’re “cut off” (CP, 23/3). Haven’t they heard of boats?

Looks like a fortune could be made by market gardeners in the Torres Strait. Makes you wonder why nobody is working to capitalise on that opportunity.

Juss Sayen It was discourteous for an AM breakfast host on Wednesday morning to talk over and ridicule a Federal Minister that he was interviewing, as his beliefs were different. Disgraceful conduct. Viv, Earlville

Council happy to waive infrastructure fees for developers but blame rate rises for residents on inflation. Zero fiscal credibility.

We’re flat out finding enough police and paramedics to keep our society safe, never mind thousands of techminded kids to crew and service five Virginia class submarines.

Re: Jonathan (CP, 22/3). Taking notice of what the IPCC say about climate change is like taking notice of what Andrew Johns says about who the best State of Origin team is. Robbo, Gordonvale

Re: Rental crisis. How about a survey of how many empty houses there are in Cairns. Just in my own kids neighbourhood, l counted four in one block. Renting has its downside for owners and renters, but sometimes you just have to take the chance.

Today I received an invoice for my car insurance. I was amazed that the premium had gone from $994 to $1267. A 27 per cent increase. How much is due to kids stealing cars and hooning?

Bruce, Bentley Park

In an effort to sell the AUKUS sub deal to taxpayers, we’re now being told the fictitious spin that China is planning a naval blockade of Australia. Now how would that work, all ships to be stopped and searched in case they are carrying Australian goods, what a load of crap.

Jarrod, Aeroglen

There is of course a logical conclusion to the Harry/William feud. When Scotland gets its independence, Harry who has red hair and is a direct descendant of James VI of Scotland will be invited to take the throne of Scotland. As has happened for the last 1000 odd years he will eventually raise an army and march south. He will capture Charles III and the rest of the Windsor no-hopers and have them beheaded. We will then have a Scotland and England united throne under King Harry I and Queen Megan. Possibly a good time for Australia to become a republic. George, Trinity Beach
