WEST CAIRNS TPI

Warm conditions welcomed the twelve players who played social mixed bowls at West Cairns Bowls Club last Monday afternoon.

The team, led by president John Frisch with Len Kensdale and Gwen Cory as supporting team members, were declared the winning team by the drawing of a playing card.

The number of players has not increased since the start of the year and we will welcome any lawn bowler who is interested in having a game to contact our selector who will assist with any enquiries. Mostly, our bowlers could be classified as players who have had lots of experience playing the game but still enjoy it as a social afternoon activity as no competition is involved.

The game commences at 1.30pm after the cards are called at 1.15pm and concludes at 4.30pm when the winning team is determined. Names can be forwarded until 12.00pm to Rosemary on 0496 24623 and any visitors will be made very welcome. If visiting, please advise name of your home club, position normally played and a mobile contact phone number. Weather is not normally a problem as the green is carpet covered with a fixed roof and protection on the sides to stop any heavy rain. Afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes, and hot drinks are included in the green fee collected and club bowls are available. Make sure you visit us soon.
