When did the CRC get permission to ban legal tender? Surely only the Federal Government has that right. Rod, Cairns

Banning hate symbols (CP, 30/3) is one of the first things the Nazis did. Kelli, Manoora

Albanese and Bandt have now driven the final nails in the coffin for Australian industry, for producing 1% of world carbon emissions. Their useless foreign owned wind and solar with a life span of 25 years will only succeed in the extinction of our

FNQ forests and native wildlife. No doubt China will find ways to extract as much Australian coal and gas as they like. A few piddling submarines will do little to stop them.

Society has reached a place where everyone has rights, but nobody has responsibilities.

Juss Sayen, Townsville

Re: Peter (CP, 29/3) people in Kennedy and Hill elect independents, that’s why they have zero influence and nothing is ever done for them. Just ask the Katter’s Australian Party.

Andrew, Smithfield

The social housing crisis in Queensland has pushed rental prices up. Demand has outstripped supply. The most simple and basic rule of economics. So the politicians point the finger at landlords to cover the total failure of government to make good with their social housing programs. Just another inquiry again to say the same thing over and over again. Cairns Regional Council talking about a landlord tax will do nothing to improve rental affordability. Just more political jiggery-pokery

The Snake, Redlynch

I agree with KS Mareeba (CP, 28/3). Jacinta Price and Warren Mundine would be a dream ticket as PM and Deputy PM. I would vote for them too. Joanne, Mt Sheridan

A referendum is paid for by all Australian taxpayers and is supposed to be a level and fair playing field for both parties, yes and no. Now the Prime Minister is only financing the yes side and not the no side. That appalling arrogance is what got Scott Morrison the boot. So it’s a big no for me.

Steve, Edge Hill

Re: Clive, Trinity Beach (CP, 28/3). You can pull your head out of the sand any time you like. How many promises has Albo already broken? That doesn’t build trust. Have you already forgotten the mean girls saga? The mean girls set the standard for toxic infighting and scandal. And kowtowing to trading partners is not “building trust”, it is kowtowing. This hypocrisy and turning a blind eye is classic progressive left. Taxpayer, Mt Sheridan

A referendum on whether to make Berlin “climate neutral” by 2030 has failed. The vast majority (almost 65%) of citizens showed no interest in voting and abstained. The required threshold was not reached. The only people who believe the climate bull are the far left. JS, Edge Hill

After the Mareeba police shooting, where a young woman was allegedly held hostage at knifepoint, there were signs saying “Black lives matter” but not one saying “Stop domestic violence.” Where was the voice for the young woman?

Roger, Woree

Great news that Gary Ablett Jr is going to lace up the boots in the AFL Cairns competition. Shame it’s only one game but let’s hope it’s a good one for him, the Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs and the league. Daicos, Smithfield

Finally the link between Kewarra and Trinity Beach is almost finished. Jeff, Kewarra
