ON WORK BEGINNING ON A SPLASH PARK IN MOSSMAN.

They should place it at Warrina Lakes. It will be well used by the locals. Innisfail has been at a standstill for years. It’s been left behind with no new infrastructure. The amount you pay for land rates and insurance is ridiculous.

ON THE COST OF LIVING IN QUEENSLAND.

The state election is not due until October 2024 and I don’t think the ALP government will take much notice of the latest round of headlines. It didn’t work in Victoria and it didn’t work in NSW. People should lobby their local members directly and raise these issues.

Michael Cooper

It’s way too expensive to live and then on top of that, we have our unbelievable crime rates.

Darrel West

ON WHAT QUEENSLANDERS REALLY THINK ABOUT HOSTING THE 2032 OLYMPIC GAMES.

Good old Anna, spending a ridiculous amount of money that Australia doesn’t even have.

Sue Martel

Maybe we can use Wellcamp as the games village and bus them all to the events.

Ken Hastings

Instead of spending all that money revamping the Gabba when there is nothing wrong with the ground as is, they could use that money to fix real problems like hospitals and the ambulances.

Win McGrath

Far North Queensland won’t see any money spin off from the Olympics. All this state and federal money being spent down in the Brisbane area is just ridiculous. Our roads and infrastructure could use some of that money.

Wayne Hose

Apparently we should only spend money on hospitals. No matter what project is proposed, someone will say it is better spent on health. If the Olympics have the same effect as Expo 88 did, it’s probably a good thing.

Michael Cooper

If only people were inspired by the Olympics and got healthy, then we wouldn’t have to spend so much money on hospitals.

ON A CAR TOWING A CARAVAN CRASHING INTO A GUARDRAIL ON THE GILLIES RANGE RD.

The speeds that most people drive down are very fast, I’m surprised there’s not more cars and people going off the edge.

Bradley Austin

Had an issue with this on the Kuranda Range last year. When it’s wet it is extra slippery. Nearly met my fate going over the edge and believe me I wasn’t speeding. Thank God for guard rails.

Kay Evans

Should people who are going to tow a caravan receive specific training and obtain a special licence to do so like truck or bus drivers.
