Saw how cabbies are being bashed by passengers and then offenders being let off by courts with a $100 fine. Cabbies there’s no big a deterrent to the mongrels than have ten, twenty cabbies turning up after someone hits the alarm. Stick together safety in numbers, since taxi industry went computerized, drivers don’t hear other drivers who are in trouble. Companies should put a radio back in cabs so everyone can use in case of an emergency. Funding could come from new licence sales made by state governments. (42 years as a cabbie)
