Be inspired at Cobb+Co Museum

-

SCHOOL holidays are meant to be fun — that’s the point — but they can also be exciting, inspiring and maybe even a little bit educational.

Science Magic is the theme of Cobb+Co Museum’s holiday program for children 12 and under.

On weekdays from April 7 to 17, there will be live shows, hands-on experiments, square bubbles, magnets, catapults and more.

As well as activities within the museum, each participant will also receive a kit with experiments to do at home. Entry is $10 per child. For teenagers, there are hands-on workshops in blacksmithing on April 7, jewellery making on April 11, airbrush art on April 14, and glass bead art on April 16. This is an opportunity for teens to learn completely new skills, but more importantly to create something beautiful from scratch which they can take home and be proud of.

The three-hour workshops are based on the museum’s renowned weekend workshops for adults and are taught by the same tutors and in the same setting.

But they have been designed especially for teenagers, with projects that can be completed within that timeframe.

The workshops cost $75 each and with only eight to 10 students per class, bookings are essential.
