THE Hooper Centre has eight tenancy spaces available for food and retail businesses.

The centre at 187 Hume St recently underwent a multi-million dollar extensive refurbishment.

It is home to IGA, Patton’s Discount Meats, a medical centre, retailers such as a newsagent, chemist and nail salon as well as Chinese and Japanese restaurants.

The centre was given a new lease of life in 2015 after developers decided to restore the entire centre after fire tore through Patton’s Discount Meats in 2013.

The owners of the centre, HG Property Services, wanted the renovations to make it a “destination of choice” for the wider area.

Opportunities exist for businesses to offer a variety of food and retail outlets at the centre, with eight spaces available for lease.

Sites range from 55 sq m to 500 sq m.

The 500 sq m site can be divided into smaller tenancies if required and would be suitable for fresh produce, a seafood market, health-food store, gym or other large retailer.

Colliers International Toowoomba real estate agents Justin Eastwell and Troy Anderson are leasing the sites.

Mr Eastwell said they were suitable for a number of different retailers.

“There has definitely been interest since the renovations,” he said.

“HG Property Services are particular with who they want as tenants because they want high-quality, if possible national, retailers to fill the tenancies and lift the profile of the centre.

“There is a bit of competition with Grand Central but there are so many positives of the Hooper Centre.

“There is great foot traffic, plenty of parking, the lease rates are a third of the price of Grand Central and it is a long-standing centre that has been around for more than 30 years.”
