Stroll through the music of the night

-

QUEENSLAND Symphony Orchestra returns to the Empire Theatre on June 22 to perform pieces from some of classical music’s biggest names in Sweet Night Music.

For this performance, QSO will take a nocturnal stroll through the music of the night, under the baton of international conductor, Daniel Kossov.

Mozarts’s famous Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute, sung by soprano Morgan England-Jones will feature alongside his much-loved Eine Kleine Nachtmusic and Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain.

Other pieces performed will include Vivaldi’s Concerto, Dvorák’s Song to the Moon from Rusalka and Dubussey’s Nocturnes.

The evening will conclude with the thrilling and famous finale from Swan Lake, as Prince Siegfried follows Odette into the Swan Lake at night.

As an arts leader and great Australian orchestra, QSO is renowned for its high quality, breathtaking performances of both classical and modern compositions.

Included in this performance is The Prodigy Project, which enables advanced students from Toowoomba schools have the opportunity to be mentored by a musician from the QSO, rehearse with the orchestra and conduction and play on the Empire Theatre stage with the full orchestra.
