Concert to support worthy Toowoomba cause

-

UNIVERSITY of Southern Queensland Artsworx will present the annual charity Toowoomba Hospice Concert with the Toowoomba Municipal Band.

This year’s concert, taking place June 10 and 11 at 2pm, will be presented with the usual flair and fun of previous events.

Guests will include the Toowoomba Choral Society Youth Choir and Dance Central’s Velocity, as well as featured soloists Lisa Christensen, Heather Gillies, Martin Paroz and Joel Philippe.

This year’s theme is Heroes and Villains and it will be a concert not to be missed.

Patrons, especially children, should come along dressed as their favourite superhero or villain to add to the fun and atmosphere of the show.

The concert proudly supports the Toowoomba Hospice, a community-based private healthcare facility that provides free palliative care to the terminally ill.

The Toowoomba Hospice has been designed to provide patients with a family-friendly, homelike environment during the final phase of their life.

The management and staff uphold the community’s respect for the sacredness of human life and the right for vulnerable people to receive professional care and support when they most need it.

The concert will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11, at 2pm at the USQ Arts Theatre in Toowoomba.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $20 for concessions, $20 for members, $12 for students or $65 for a family.

The concert will run for two hours and 30 minutes and includes an interval. Bookings can be made and tea, coffee and refreshments will be available for a gold coin donation at the interval.

To book, search for Toowoomba Hospice Concert at artsworx.usq.edu.au or phone the box office on 4631 1111.
