1. Jazz and Shiraz at Preston Peak

2. Pizza Hut’s Footy Feed Truck

TO CELEBRATE the footy season, Pizza Hut has some great events planned for Toowoomba residents.

The Pizza Hut’s Footy Feed Food Truck will be at the University of Southern Queensland campus for an exciting rugby match between USQ Saints and UQ Gatton.

Compliment­ary pizzas and sides will again be on the menu.

All Toowoomba residents are invited to these two free events.

3. Toowoomba Farmers’ Market

4. Toowoomba Hospice Concert

WHEN: Today and tomorrow, 2pm WHERE: USQ Arts Theatre

TOOWOOMBA Municipal Band and friends will present a variety concert in support of the Toowoomba Hospice.

There will be music presented by the band as well as the Toowoomba Choral Society Youth choir and Dance Central’s Velocity, featuring solos from Lisa Christense­n, Heather Gillies, Martin Paroz and Joel Philippe.

The concert will have a heroes and villains theme.

Patrons, especially children, are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite superhero or villain.

5. Happy Birthday Play School

WHEN: Today and tomorrow WHERE: Cobb and Co Museum COME and celebrate with

Big Ted, Little Ted, Humpty and Jemima at the exhibition celebratin­g 50 years of Play School, ABC’s much loved television program.

This fun exhibition takes a look at five decades of Play School and includes toys, props and costumes from each period, alongside archival audio and video clips of past programs and presenters enjoying being part of the show.

It features the iconic Rocket Clock, Flower Clock and the famous Play School Windows.

6. Auditions for One-Act Plays

WHEN: Today, 2pm WHERE: Toowoomba Repertory Theatre

TOOWOOMBA’S Repertory Theatre is holding auditions for parts in its One-Act Plays Festival, performed during The Carnival of Flowers.

The winning plays of the 2017 Play Writing Competitio­n require two men and four women of varying ages plus voice-over performers.

The plays also require

prompts and backstage crew such as sound and light operators.

7. Country music social

BE ENTERTAINE­D by members of the Garden City Country Music Associatio­n, as well as Dalby’s Gary McDonald who is a long time member of the Dalby Country Music Club.

Entry is $8 and involves afternoon tea and there will be raffles.

8. The Hootananny Tour with Tim Neufeldand The Glory Boys

COME and be part of a “Worship Hoedown” which will be a bluegrass inspired night of music and joy, beards, banjos, and blessings for the

whole family.

It will be a night of corporate worship; with hymns, choruses, original songs, and comedy, geared towards all ages and denominati­ons.

9. DownsSteam Toowoomba

10. Skoob

WHEN: Today and tomorrow, 10am to 2pm

WHERE: Toowoomba Art Society

SKOOB is an exhibition by 13 members of the Creative Artists Book Group at the Toowoomba Art Society.

Almost all these books are hand-sewn using techniques such as Coptic binding pamphlet stitch, secret Belgian binding along with variations. Some include hand weaving as well.
