Monk’s looking for love on Bachelorette

-

THE Bachelor and the Bachelorette will be back on our screens in 2017. Sophie Monk will star in season three of The Bachelorette Australia.

After high-profile relationships with the likes of Sam Worthington and musician Benji Madden, Monk (pictured) told News Corp in April she would be happy with a man who was not seeking fame.

“Someone who is not competitive,” she said.

“Just a man who has got a good self-esteem. I don’t really want a boyfriend that is obsessed with how he looks because I don’t care.

“And I would love funny but that is tricky.”

Monk moved back to Australia a couple of years ago and has embraced life back in sunny Queensland, on the Gold Coast. She said she was happy to have family and friends nearby, but was hoping to share that aspect of her life with a special someone.

“My mum was the person who suggested that I should be the Bachelorette. She, along with the rest of my family, know how much it means to me to find the right person to settle down with,” she said.

And fan favourite Matty Johnson is Australia’s new Bachelor this year.

The 29-year-old marketing director first came to fame after meeting Georgia Love on last year’s season of The Bachelorette Australia.

Love chose Lee Elliott over Johnson in the finale last year in Singapore.

Johnson, in season five of The Bachelor Australia, is looking for a kind, intelligent, easy-going woman who shares his passion for the outdoors and the ocean.

He said he was excited about the prospect of settling down. “Timing is such a crucial factor when it comes to making this commitment and I know wholeheartedly that there’s nothing I want more,” Johnson said.

Osher Günsberg will host both shows again this year.
