McDonalds drawn to Plainland’s profile

-

THE Lockyer Valley Travel Centre and Plainland’s neighbouring commercial and residential development has convinced McDonalds to service the Warrego Hwy growth corridor.

McDonalds has purchased more than 4000sq m of level land in a newly released commercial estate adjacent to the Lockyer Valley Transport Centre, positioning the global fast food leader for current and future growth along the regional arterial.

LJ Hooker Commercial Toowoomba general manager Shane Kennett, who secured the sale to McDonalds, is selling three remaining parcels in the commercial estate which could be utilised for a full spectrum of uses including a motel, automotive specialist or even government agencies.

“The Plainland and Laidley section of the Warrego Hwy attracts approximately 25,000 passing vehicles a day and being ideally positioned between Toowoomba and Ipswich, the Travel Centre will service much of this and future passenger and commercial traffic,” Mr Kennett said.

“McDonalds recognises the patronage which the Travel Centre will deliver, creating a popular mid-journey stop on the Hwy.

“Additionally, the Echidna Place commercial precinct is in proximity to major retailers including Woolworths, the popular Schulte’s Meats and Porters Plainland Hotel.

“The council has made provisions for Plainland’s population to double over the next 15 years and this commercial estate will service the bulk of these new residents.”

LJ Hooker Commercial Toowoomba is currently offering three more commercial allotments in Echidna Place, Plainland, up to 4000sq m.

Mr Kennett said the sites would appeal to owner-occupants wanting to establish operations in a growth corridor or an investor wanting to attract a service-based tenant.
