A 26-YEAR-OLD man accused of the armed robbery of a Toowoomba service station is to take his case straight up to the District Court to be dealt with.

Ashley Kenneth Scott Boney was not in Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday when his case was mentioned but his solicitor John Davis (MacDonald Law) told the court his client would be taking his charges by way of registry committal straight up to the higher court to be dealt with.

Boney is charged with the armed robbery of Greenwattle St Freedom Fuels service station on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 19.

Police claim Boney was caught at a Harlaxton address counting the money allegedly stolen in the armed robbery of the service station earlier that day.

He is further charged with serious assault of police arising from an alleged incident in the watch house following his arrest for the armed robbery.

Boney has remained in custody since his arrest having been refused bail.

The 26-year-old has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to the charges which include entering a premises with intent and armed robbery arising from the Freedom Fuels incident and serious assault of police arising from the alleged incident in the watch house.

Magistrate Graham Lee remanded Boney in custody and adjourned the case until July 3 by which time it was envisaged that the registry committal would have been done.
