Queensland debutants up to task, say Blues

THE NSW pack is preparing for another brutal encounter when it clashes with Queensland in State of Origin II.

The Blues held their last training session yesterday morning before taking a mini-break from camp so players can spend some time with their families.

After the session, NSW forwards Jake Trobjevic and David Klemmer took the chance to weigh in on Queensland’s team changes, especially up front, as news filtered through that Kevin Walters would blood debutant Jarrod Wallace in the starting side.

Klemmer said the Titans forward would be up to the task and that Melbourne’s Tim Glasby was a “Maroons type” of player who would only be motivated by all the talk about him in the lead-up to the game.

“He’s a tough bugger Wallace, he takes the ball up really well,” Klemmer said.

“Glasby is one of those Melbourne forwards that’s tough and he fits perfectly into the Queensland mould.

“Any side they put together it’s a classy outfit and they’ve got some young boys coming in.”

Trbojevic, who made his Origin debut in game one, said the Maroons debutants would be nervous but that they were all up to the job.

“They’ll be nervous but that’s natural but they are all quality players so they are all up to it, they’ll be there putting their best foot forward,” Trbojevic said.

“They’ll be nervous during the day but once they get out there and get their first touch, they’ll be raring to go.”

Klemmer agreed with his teammate, saying: “The whole week is all nerves (but) they’d be very excited to play for their state.” MORE ONLINE Hess can handle heat: Morgan
