TOP 2 CHASE SILVERWARE
Dalby and Valleys are set to play off for the Madsen-Rasmussen Trophy Final as both teams chase their first major TRL silverware in years.
The top two teams will face off at Herb Steinohrt Oval tomorrow in what will be a big day of footy featuring five games.
The massive day will culminate with the top-grade clash between unbeaten Dalby and hopeful host Valleys.
TRL: Major trophies in the TRL top grade have been hard to come by for Dalby over the past decade and one man remains from the Diehards’ last sizable triumph.
Dalby will take on Valleys in Sunday’s Madsen-Rasmussen Trophy Final at Herb Steinohrt Oval and the Diehards hope history can repeat.
The club last won a major TRL trophy in the 2010 Madsen-Rasmussen, which was coincidentally against the Roosters.
Brent Hunt is the only Diehard remaining from that winning squad and he would love to take out the Madsen-Rasmussen Trophy again.
“Winning any trophy in A grade is good,” Hunt said. “We had a good year that year and hopefully we can this year.”
Dalby made it to the grand final in 2010 only to lose to Valleys, so the Diehards are keen to go one win further this season.
They are well on their way sitting unbeaten after 10 matches this season heading into the Madsen-Rasmussen.
