Sheridan chalks up 100 games

FOOTBALL: With 100 senior National Premier Leagues Queensland games officially under his belt, Keagan Sheridan is targeting at least another ton before he hangs up the boots.

Sheridan has played the majority of that century with the Thunder; while Finland and Western Pride came calling, the Toowoomba-native always found his way back home.

“You always have a special place in your heart for your home team - especially when you have played through the juniors,” the defender said.

“You wear your heart on your sleeve when you put that blue shirt on.

“You bleed for the badge and you bleed for your hometown and to represent Toowoomba state-wide is special.”

At the green age of 22 Sheridan has been around for the high and low points the club has endured over the years.

While the Thunder is now in a stable position after extending their NPLQ licence past 2018, things have not always been as rosy.

Sheridan singled the moment the club cracked a significant shift in its fortunes as the highlight of his career, a moment he thought would never come.

“It has to be last season when we got our first win in two years,” he recalled.

“The whole community got behind us and that was a special moment.

“It was a massive relief that we could prove that we can play good football.”

The Thunder women travels to Sunshine Coast today on the back of a 9-1 loss to The Gap last week.
