Nominations now open for city’s business awards

- with Chamber CEO Jo Sheppard

THE Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Heritage Bank Business Excellence awards are the premier business event for the year, showcasing some of the best local businesses to be found in Toowoomba.

The awards are a celebration of the business community’s contribution to the economic and social fabric of our city.

Recognising the leaders, innovators and the sometimes quiet achievers among our business community, these awards are a great way for owners and staff to critically assess their business performance, recognise their successes and set strategies for the future.

The 2017 awards were launched earlier this month at the historic Gabbinbar Homestead, which won the award in the tourism category last year.

Nominations are now open. Businesses can nominate themselves but equally if you know of a business which is doing great things and you think deserves recognition, you are able to nominate them as well. Applications close September 14.

A series of awards program workshops will take place during July and August, which are used to not only assist you with particular areas of the application but specifically profile your business to identify areas of improvement.

Past participants describe being part of the awards process as a positive experience to re-focus on key aspects of your business.

We at Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce encourage you to nominate your business or to nominate a business that you think deserves recognition and join us at the prestigious awards dinner on Saturday, October 14.
