Computers at heart of Joyce Mayne’s newest renovation

-

JOYCE Mayne’s recent renovation and expansion means there is now a full range of computers for customers to choose from.

Computer proprietor Morgan Page especially moved to the store to lend his expertise in computers.

“Previously there hadn’t been any renovation in the entire 20 years, so it was looking a bit shabby,” Mr Page said.

“But now everything’s new and bright, and you walk in and it’s like chalk and cheese,” he said.

The renovation has meant there is now a much bigger range and new categories.

The most innovative of these is in the computer section.

“In the computer department, there’s a lot of categories that electrical doesn’t have,” Mr Page said.

“Computers, mobile phones, printers, even things like cordless phones and even bathroom scales,” he said.

“Now bathroom scales are a part of the connected fitness range, with FitBits and all that sort of thing.

“Electrical don’t have that because of the connection these devices have to the computer genre.”

This modern-day reliance on computers and wi-fi connections has meant a varying amount of devices now find themselves in the computer department of Joyce Mayne, such as headphones, cameras and wireless speakers.

“With how we live now, everything connects,” Mr Page said.

However, customers don’t have to be concerned about feeling lost in the store, as there are many staff members available to help who are experts in their fields.

“It’s very important to us here at Joyce Mayne to keep everything local, so all the staff are Toowoomba people,” Mr Page said.

One of Joyce Mayne’s proudest points is how every member of staff is very personable as well.

“We don’t push the most expensive product on the customer when they don’t need it,” Mr Page said.

“We match each customer with exactly what they need and listen to what they tell us,” he said.

“We’re not going to sell them something that they don’t need.”

For example, many people don’t realise there are better speed routers available for NBN connections.

Generally, the internet supplier will send out the lowest speed router, and while the NBN comes to

the wall of the house at a greater speed, the cheap router slows it down.

Joyce Mayne can help you get the ideal router for your NBN connection and the speed you need for your household use of internet.

“We also have about 80 to 100 computers on display, as well as tablets and smart phones, so we can match the customer with whatever they need,” Mr Page said.

With the renovation came a greater capacity of
