Baby Quinn on cloud nine with first flights

-

WHEN little Quinn Green was just eight months old she had her first flight on a plane bound for Melbourne.

Almost to the day, one year later, Wendy and Quinn Green celebrated the milestone with a second trip from Wellcamp Airport to Melbourne.

The Green family has flown into and out of Wellcamp Airport about 16 times and says its been the best thing that’s happened for the region.

“When Alistair and I moved to Toowoomba in 2011 we made a promise to ourselves we would make it a priority to travel and keep in touch with our family,” Mrs Green said.

“We love the airport and before it was built we truly flew less because we had to go to Brisbane.

“It was a hassle with parking fees and the travel time with small children.”

Mrs Green is also the Cobb and Co product development manager.

Mrs Green and her family — husband Alistair, 18-month-old Quinn and three-year-old Tucker — fly regularly from Toowoomba to Cairns, Townsville and Melbourne.

“When you consider about $70 for parking in Brisbane and the travel time to get there, it is worth potentially paying a little bit more to fly local… we are so grateful to have the airport and the services that we want to support them and ensure we always have the convenience of an airport like Wellcamp in our city,” Mrs Green said.

As a local, Mrs Green said flying via Wellcamp Airport is not only convenient and time effective but the airport staff is so friendly.

“The flight attendants are also so lovely on Airnorth and Qantaslink and they remember us now,” Mrs Green laughed.

More than 80 flights operate in and out of Wellcamp Airport every week.
