It’s winter wonderland at Grand Central

-

GRAND Central Shopping Centre marketing manager Melissa Shaw said she loved seeing children letting their imaginations run wild at the centre’s school holiday activities.

Activities are running until July 9 and Toowoomba children have the opportunity to experience a “winter wonderland” using augmented and virtual reality.

“It can be difficult for families to find free activities they can do together, especially in the winter when the weather is cooler,” Ms Shaw said.

“We wanted to ensure there was a number of fun, interactive stations that appealed to all age groups.

“Kids as young as four have been enjoying the virtual reality experience.

“We have loved seeing kids playing the games with their parents most of all.

“It’s great to see the kids letting their imaginations run wild, whether it be building an igloo or creating their own keep cup to take home.”

There is no shortage of fun with virtual reality in centre court and three augmented reality pods placed throughout the centre.

Children can create their own avatar to use in the augmented reality on the ground level outside Kmart and take a photo with their avatar on level one near The Athlete’s Foot.

They can also design their own “keep cup” outside of Big W on level two and visit participating retailers for a discounted drink.
