Wattles in finals battle

RUGBY LEAGUE: The race to the Hutchinson Builders TRL Premiership finals looks to be split into two battles.

The top four look fairly set, with a four point buffer between Highfields in fourth and Gatton in fifth.

What remains to be seen in the top four is where each team finishes and who claims the top two spots.

There are then another four teams battling it out for the remaining two places in the top six for the finals.

That is where the real battle looms as those finals hopefuls will be desperate for results.

One of those teams is Wattles and they face an important test against Pittsworth at Platz Oval tomorrow.

The Warriors dropped out of the top six to seventh with a loss to Souths last weekend, one which kept the Tigers in the finals hunt in eighth, two points behind Wattles.

Gatton and Warwick are tied for fifth two points ahead of Wattles, so finals hopefuls will be determined to put some wins together as a loss could see them drop out of the top six.

Wattles will be focused on their game against Pittsworth though as the

third-placed Danes will pose a big challenge.

Thankfully for the Warriors, halfback Matt Duggan will return from Queensland Rangers duty which should give them better direction around the park.

Duggan will then be

looking for the likes of Brendan Perkins, Jarred Bradfield and Ryan Duggan in the forwards to provide solid platform to attack.

But they will come up against a strong Pittsworth pack featuring the likes of Braydon Gibbs, Brad Brosnan and Daniel York.
