MOVIE: Superman Returns 9GO!, 8.30pm, M (2006)

After a two-decade break from the big screen, the Man of Steel made a flaccid return to the superhero profession in this rendering by Bryan Singer (X-Men, Valkyrie). The tightsclad saviour (played by Brandon Routh) returns from outer space to Metropolis and must re-adjust to life on Earth after a five-year absence. Superman’s true love Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) now has a new beau (James Marsden) and young son, and an embittered Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) has set in motion an outlandish scheme to exact revenge on his nemesis.

Poldark ABC, 8.40pm

Once you’ve entered the gloriously dramatic and romantic world of

Poldark, most are happy to let the latch lock behind them. Dripping with atmosphere, stunning scenery and absurdly attractive actors (here’s looking at you, Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson), it’s a treat. A creamy, sugary one, at that. Last week, fans were left in shock when it was revealed Dr Dwight Enys (Luke Norris) is alive, but being held captive across the seas in France. Will he be rescued? Tonight, Ross (Turner) is ordered to leave Roscoff under threat of execution.

Bull WIN, 9.10pm

It’s Fashion Week in New York City and the glitz and glamour of it all could almost overshadow a murder, if it wasn’t so theatrical and hard to miss. There’s a lot of eye candy in tonight’s episode, and Bull (Michael Weatherly) could be included in that category with his James Bond-esque choice of outfit. Bull and Chunk’s (Chris Jackson) friendship is tested when Bull helps the man suspected of murdering Nella Wester (Paulina Porizkova), Chunk’s fashion mentor. The writers go beyond the surface of fashion, with an intriguing look at what Bull and his team’s fashion sense says about them.

The Voice NINE, 7pm

The Voice does a stellar job of hitting the high notes of drama in every episode, so you can expect a full range of emotions and a chorus of excitement tonight: we’ve finally reached the grand final. The top four contestants must dig deep into their souls for the performance of their lives to take out the coveted title of The Voice Australia. Adding to the edge-of-your-seat excitement – and making the inevitable long wait to find out the winner just a little bit more bearable – are the big-name guests. While coaches Delta, Seal (both pictured), Kelly and Boy George are entertaining, things are taken up an octave with Katy Perry and Niall Horan.
