1. Events for Brett Forte

WHEN: Today WHERE: Departing Darling Downs Harley-Davidson, 329 Taylor St and Toowoomba Showground­s

TWO events will be held to honour Senior Constable Brett Forte this weekend.

An auto show at the Toowoomba Showground­s, hosted by Toowoomba’s Ole Skool Krome, will be held from 1pm to 5.30pm.

It will feature a huge range of cars from classic and muscle to hotrods and vintage cars. Entry is a donation to support Snr Const Forte’s family.

A ride of honour will also be held for the officer, held by the Darling Downs Harley-Davidson and Darling Downs Harley Owners Group.

The ride will leave from Darling Downs Harley-Davidson at 1pm, riding to Gatton, and will arrive at the Toowoomba Showground­s at 2.30pm.

Registrati­on opens at 10.30am at 329 Taylor St, with an entry fee of $10 per rider and pillion. Fundraisin­g activities will be held from 11am.

2. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

WHEN: Today, 2pm and 7pm WHERE: Empire Theatre

THE Toowoomba Junior Choral Society will join the world’s favourite flying car on stage these school holidays. Family musical adventure Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be performed at the Empire Theatre today.

Originally written for his son, Ian Fleming’s book became the much-loved 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

A sensationa­l score by the renowned Sherman Brothers

(Richard and Robert) includes such unforgetta­ble songs as Truly Scrumptiou­s, Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain and, of course, its Oscar-nominated title song Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

3. Toowoomba Farmers’ Markets

4. Free Magical Parks

5. An Animal Story

THE latest Toowoomba Art Society’s exhibition will be opened this weekend.

An Animal Story is an exhibition of works by artist Joy Holt.

6. Event Cinemas school holiday activities

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday WHERE: BCC Cinemas Grand Central

BORED these school holidays? Event Cinemas have come to the rescue with a bumper program of free kids crafty events and screenings to make the holidays super fun.

Little ones will be spoiled for choice with a stellar line-up of fun films including

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, Despicable Me 3 and Cars 3.

Bigger kids won’t miss out either, with the premiere of Transforme­rs: The Last Knight and the return of web-slinging superhero Spider-Man: Homecoming.

7. Toowoomba Bears Women’s 7s carnival

WHEN: Today, 10am WHERE: Heritage Oval

TOOWOOMBA Bears will host its Ladies Day this weekend, which will coincide with the Women’s 7s Carnival.

Action starts at 10am and will include seniors playing in A, B and C grades later in the afternoon.

8. Darling Downs Zoo WHEN: Today and tomorrow, 9am to 4pm

WHERE: Corner of

Gatton-Clifton Rd and Baines Rd, Pilton

SEE the newest animal additions at the Darling Downs Zoo. The cheetahs arrived at the end of June and are enjoying their new home. Last admissions are at 3pm and the zoo closes at 4pm each day.

9. Afternoon dance

WHEN: Tomorrow, 1pm WHERE: 30 Victoria St

TOWOOMBA Senior Citizens Club is holding an afternoon dance tomorrow, which will include old-time and some new vogue dancing.

Entry is $7 for members and $9 for non-members. Afternoon tea will be provided and there will be a lucky-door prize, lucky spots and raffles.

10. School holiday activities
