Danger men climb try list

- Ben Drewe ben.drewe@thechronicle.com.au

TRL: Some big hauls in the past few rounds have shaken up the Hutchinson Builders TRL Premiership top try-scorers list.

There are some talented finishers in the top 10 after 13 rounds.

Three tries against Pittsworth last weekend has lifted Wattles back Braydon Wilson to the top of the list with 15 tries this season.

He has picked up tries in clumps this season, including a haul of five in one game against Goondiwindi last month.

Renowned try-scorer Aaron Hooper is second with 14 after running four for Highfields last weekend.

Valleys winger Aaron Sillitoe is third on the list with 13 tries, eight of which have come in his past four games, including five against Oakey last month.

Other notable efforts in the top 10 come from Oakey’s Josh Stanton, who has 11 tries in a team that has managed one win this season, while Pittsworth Top 10 TRL try-scorers

15: Braydon Wilson (Wattles)

14: Aaron Hooper (Highfields)

13: Aaron Sillitoe (Valleys), Corey Blades (Dalby)

12: Callum Woolacott (Gatton)

11: Dylan Chown (Valleys), Emmanuel Cerei (Valleys), Josh Stanton (Oakey) 10: Jeff Weber (Pittsworth) 9: Billy Jackwitz (Gatton), Braydon Gibbs (Pittsworth), Dylan Galloway (Warwick)

prop Braydon Gibbs has nine despite also having to do the tough work in the middle of the park.

Valleys and Gatton are well represented in the top 10 ahead of their important clash at Herb Steinohrt Oval on Saturday night.

Gatton playmaker Callum Woolacott is fifth on the try-scorers list with 12, while Billy Jackwitz is equal 10th with nine four-pointers.

Unfortunately for the Hawks neither of those players have been named to take on Valleys but Gatton will be high on confidence after downing Dalby last weekend.

That result allowed Valleys to move into a share of the competition lead with Dalby and depth has been important for the Roosters this season.

They have Sillitoe along with Dylan Chown and Emmanuel Cerei, who has scored 11, on the top 10 try-scorers list.

Next with eight tries is prodigy Travis Turnbull who has run in his haul of four-pointers from just three games in what is an outstanding return.

That has given coach Brett Seymour plenty of quality players to choose from and he has been unable to find a place for Cerei, who has been named in reserve grade against Gatton.
