Free lessons if families take the plunge

-

SWIM Australia wants families to shed their heavy winter coats and get into the pool.

“SwimFree’’ is an initiative started by the organisation that encourages families to improve their fitness, regardless of age.

As a Swim Australia registered swim school, staff at the Glennie Aquatic Centre say they want families new to the swim school to take advantage of four free swimming lessons during Term 3.

The offer represents a saving of $68 when people book and attend the full term.

With no age restrictions, everyone from babies to adults can take part.

Swimming is a fantastic way to strengthen your body during winter, and temperature-controlled indoor pools are one of the reliably warm places to get out of the cold as the mercury plummets.

Armed with fitter and stronger bodies, immune systems can help to combat colds and flu, say staff at the Glennie pool.

“Swimming over the cooler months is fantastic, not only is this the warmest spot in town, it gives you a head start for club and carnival season and keeps the children active during the cooler months,” said Cass Daniells, swim instructor and aquatic centre supervisor.

People who are interested can contact Glennie Aquatic Centre on 4688 8845 to book a term of swim fun and enjoy four free swimming lessons.
