Hear from a soil expert at Jondaryan Woolshed

-

AUSTRALIAN soil ecologist Christine Jones will share her knowledge with farmers at Bear Biologics Regenerative Soil Management event this month.

“I like to make my presentations highly interactive and there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss whatever aspects participants are interested in,” Dr Jones said.

“I enjoy tough questions.” Bear Biologics principal consultant Sarah Fea said the event, on July 25, would be a “very informative full-day program” from 9am to 4.30pm at the iconic Jondaryan Woolshed.

“This is a day is for everyone who has an enterprise that is reliant on a healthy, functioning soil,” Ms Fea said.

“The power of photosynthesis, the importance of carbon sequestration, what makes a healthy soil, the role of multi-species for increased diversity, healthy crops and pastures, restoration of mycorrhizal fungi, and how to transition from highanalysis N and P fertilisers are just a taste of the topics that shall be covered during the day.”

Thanks to modern technology, Michael Jefferies, advocate for soil health and

chairman of Soils for Life, will adress the group about the future direction of RD&E for soil health.

The event is supported by the Regional Landcare facilitator, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program, Nutri-tech Solutions, Ag-Assist and The Sustainable Paddock.

Bookings can be made via Eventbrite – Spend the day with Dr Christine Jones. Tickets are $120. Bookings are essential by July 20 as morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided.
