EVER fancied looking out of your kitchen window onto a stunning vineyard and winery?

Well, one of Queensland’s most iconic wineries is for sale.

Robert Channon Wines in Stanthorpe hit the market last November for an asking price of $2.45 million.

Now the winery has dropped in price to $1.95m.

For the past 19 years Robert and Peggy Channon have built their winery into one of the most prominent names in wine-making and was the first winery in the state to receive five stars from James Halliday.

The couple’s property and homestead which adjoins the winery is also for sale, with the two titles selling for $3.8m.

The property is 129 hectares and has eight hectares of vines, a cellar door, sheds, concert hall and the famous Singing Lake Café where monthly musical events are staged.

Now in their 70s, the Channons are looking to retire.

Mr Channon said soon he would start to slow down and it was time to leave his business behind.

“We’ve been here 19 years. It’s a wonderful life and we’ve had a great time. But the final act is drawing up,” he said.

Robert Channon Wines is being sold through David Schnitzerling and Co.

Mr Schnitzerling said there had been interest in the property from Brisbane and as far away as China.
