CROWS NEST GOOMBUNGEE RIFLE

Nineteen shooters competed in tricky conditions. The rain held off long enough so everyone could finish and get back to the club house dry. Results: Target rifle: Ashley B - 104.13, Nikk E - 104.12, Dennis B - 101.5, Max B 99.10, John G - 98.6, Darryll M - 76.2, Paul O - 81. F open: Mr O - 108.4, Mrs O 106.1, Geoff C - 102.1. F standard: Framer B - 119.7, Neil A - 116.2, Glenn E - 114.5, Shawn B - 114.3, Ray O - 110.4, Wade F 110.1, Scotty D - 109.5, John L - 99, Doug T - 97.1.

Next week is at 700 yards and target will go up for a 12.30pm start.

DARLING DOWNS RIFLE

Shooters of the Darling Downs gathered at the 900 yard mound at Pratten. The fog took some time to clear out before the rounds went down range in rather mild conditions. Target Rifle shot for the Dr Alex Horn Cup and was taken by M.Guy at his first ever club shoot convincing­ly. F-Class shot for the 2nd stage of the D.Rodney trophy and was taken by R.Wardrop.

Off rifle scores: Fullbore M.Guy 99.6 (1st Shoot), S.Kao 97.9. F-Standard R.Wardrop 119.3 L.Pedersen 101.1. Next weekend will be a busy one with a club shoot at Dalby for 500 yards at noon. Following on with the .303 rapid fire shoot and the Fromelles remembranc­e shoot on July 23.

CLUB 33

With only three rounds remaining, the race is on for top spot in Club 33 squash.

Three teams, Stegos 116, Brontos 115 and Iguanos 111, are neck and neck for the No 1 position. Meanwhile Tyranns, 76 and Theriz 72, are battling to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.

Results from round nine were: Brontos 3 – 9 v Stegos 0 – 6, Brachios 2 – 11 v Tyranns 2 – 9, Titans 2 – 10 v Ceratops 2 – 10, Iguanos 2 – 12 v Raptors 2 – 8 and Theriz 3 – 14 v Sauros 1 – 6. Highlights of the round were the battle between Titans (two matches, 10 games and 262 points and Ceratops (2 – 10 – 247) and Macca outlasting John Pirlo 3 – 2 (68 points to 67).
