Ware to head up Santas

SANTA Gertrudis Australia has appointed a new general manager.

Stephen Ware will take over the position next month.

Santa Gertrudis Australia president Scott Ferguson said there had been a nationwide search for suitable candidates to lead and develop the breed.

With more than 25 years in agribusine­ss Mr Ware was uniquely positioned for the role according to Mr Ferguson.

“He has a great track record of growing business, implementi­ng change and developing people, and I am assured that he will lead our breed to great things in the coming years,” Mr Ferguson said.

Mr Ware grew up on a sheep and cattle property near Blackall and has been involved with the land all his life.

Starting his career in 1989 as a station manager, Mr Ware also worked as a stock and station agent before moving into rural banking, an industry in which he has excelled for over 10 years.

Since 2012, Mr Ware has been the branch manager of Rabobank in Emerald, responsibl­e for driving growth and efficienci­es, and for leading the transforma­tion of the bank’s operation in the Emerald region.

Mr Ware takes over management of the associatio­n from Ben Noller.

Mr Noller is headed for prominent charolais stud, Palgrove, on the Darling Downs where he will be involved with the stud’s breeding, genetics and business developmen­t program.

Mr Ware will relocate to Brisbane in coming weeks, with his wife and children joining him after the school term finishes.
