The Quad Masters played at the weekend at Cooparoo resulted in a win for the Downs and District Ladies. Well done to all our players who participated in this event.
Friday August 4: Nominations close for the Zone 3 Champion of Club Champions played at West Toowoomba from August 21 and played until finalised. Nominations close for the DDLBA Novice Singles, played at West Toowoomba August 12. Monday August 7: DDLBA management meeting followed by the Pennants delegates meeting. Monday August 28: Pennants start.

COMBINED SERVICES
There is only three seats left for our trip to the Gold Coast from Thursday November 2 to Monday November 6. We will be playing bowls at Mudgeeraba, Cabarita and Mermaid Beach. Our AGM will be held at City on Sunday August 20 at 9am. Full payment for the trip must be paid at this meeting.

Nominations for 2017/18 Championship and Consistency Singles will close and the draw will be done on Thursday August 10 and the first of the competitions will be called to play on August 24. Your name must be on the board at least two weeks prior if you are unavailable at any time during the course of competition. Final of our Graded and Drawn Pairs was won by S. Kerr and C. Eldridge and Runner Up L. Cameron and P. Somerset played last week.

At our AGM last week the following was elected to executive positions for 2017-18: Patroness Mrs Doreen Ciesiolka. President Mrs Barbara Poole. Secretary Mrs Veta Allen. Treasurer Mrs Rhondda Lawrie. Congratulations to Doreen and Barbara who have been honoured with life membership of the Oakey Ladies Bowls Club in recognition of their outstanding service to the club over several years.

A game of Championship Singles was won by A.Blinco from J.Charles last week.
August 2 we have one team going to Millmerran and August 3 two games of A grade singles will be played between A.Blinco v F.Dick, A.Fowler v R.Drummond. Markers are Sylvia Elsden and Trish Ehlers. August 10: Ladies section AGM at the club at 9.30am.

A general information meeting is to be held on Sunday August 13 at 10am at the club. All members are requested to attend as there are important issues
to be discussed. This meeting will be followed by a Pennants meeting and all players selected are requested to attend.
We need more teams/players for our Shield Fundraiser on August 8 so please put your teams/names on the nomination sheet on the board. Congratulations to Debi Peterson who was runner up in the Master Singles at Toowoomba.
