Joyce Mayne celebrates and gives back with grand opening

-

TOOWOOMBA’S new mega electrical, computer and lifestyle store is now open and ready to go.

After three months of hard work renovating and expanding the store, Joyce Mayne is celebrating tomorrow with their Opening Day.

There will be a free sausage sizzle, popcorn and face-painting, as well as giveaways and discounts.

Proprietor Wayne Peters said the first 100 children through the doors will receive a free fidget spinner, while the first 50 sales will receive a free Oral B electric toothbrush.

“Hot FM will be here, live broadcasting,” Mr Peters said.

“There’s going to be loads of suppliers here as well, demonstrating their products to give you the best knowledge on what to purchase,” he said.

The store’s new cooking section is the newest on the Darling Downs, Mr Peters added, as well as being the brightest, freshest, the best you’ve ever seen with over 240sq m of displays.

“There’s been nothing but positive support,” Mr Peters said.

“Every person that’s come in here has just said ‘unbelievable’,” he said.

Computer proprietor Morgan Page said the opening sales and celebrations will continue throughout the week.

“There is a lot happening on that Saturday though, with giveaways and more,” Mr Page said.

“We’ve even got someone busking out the front with a guitar,” he said.

With few lifestyle megastores in Toowoomba or the Downs like it, Joyce Mayne is pioneering the way to deliver a great consumer experience through shopping with a more lifestyle feel.

Mr Peters said he was passionate about passing on great prices to Toowoomba residents, as he himself and wife Tracy are locals born and bred in Toowoomba, passionate about fostering a strong community. “This is a massive change for Toowoomba and it shows what retail is in this city — it’s healthy.”

There will also be discounts store-wide.

“We have really taken Joyce Mayne to that next level—it is now a higher end lifestyle store but we have kept our exceptional pricing that our customers love,” Mr Peters said.

“As we are part of the Harvey Norman buying group that gives us the power to get the best price on the market.”

Mr Page noted that Joyce Mayne is very happy to share this with the community.

“It’s been a hard slog over the past three months, working up to this, and we really want to celebrate by giving back to the community,” he explained.

There will be 30 per cent off printers, up to 20% off laptops, 15% off cameras and SLRs, as well as 20% off products in the fitness department.

“We’re hoping for a big day full of a great vibe, good atmosphere — the staff are all here ready, and waiting to answer all your questions,” Mr Page said.

For people visiting the store for the first time, Mr Peters is open to hearing their comments.

“I want customers to let me know their thoughts — good, bad — all feedback is useful for me,” he said.

“Retail is about customer service, and a lot of people talk about good customer service, but not many are willing to listen to feedback and make their service better.

“Here at Joyce Mayne we implement it, and we pride ourselves on excellent customer service.

“Not only will our staff give you great advice, but they will go out of their way to make sure you are fully informed before making a purchase, and 100 per cent happy with your selection.”

Mr Peters said so far there had only been positive feedback about the store, with most customers acting almost awed when stepping inside the bright, newly renovated store.

The recent rebranding of Joyce Mayne Toowoomba to establish it as the premium lifestyle store on the Downs has coincided with the store aligning themselves with the leading electronics brands on the market.

With brands such as Dyson, Smeg, LG, Miele, Bosch, Fisher and Paykel, Breville, Samsung and more, it is easy to see why the new range of choice is drawing strong customer support.

Born and bred in Toowoomba, Mr Peters is passionate about passing great savings on to his loyal and growing customer base, and believes in his duty to help better both the business and general community in Toowoomba.

“I am incredibly proud of this community, and I love taking the opportunity to get involved in community

events wherever we can,” Mr Peters said.

Joyce Mayne Toowoomba is a regular contributor to various fundraising initiatives and charities, with a contribution made to a different charity cause on an almost monthly basis.

With causes such as Blue September (fighting cancer in men), Daffodil Day (raising money for the Cancer Council), Red Nose Day (prevention of sudden

infant death syndrome), It’s A Bloke Thing (raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer), as well as many more.

“My wife Tracy and I have been part of this community for many years, and it’s something we love to do — giving back,” Mr Peters said.

One way of doing this is their opening day tomorrow, so why not pay Joyce Mayne a visit next to the lights on Perth and Ruthven Sts.
