Things that go bump in the night

- WITH acting editor Letea Cavander

WHEN I was staying at my sister’s and her husband’s more than 400-year-old house in England, I was sleeping in their attic when something unusual happened.

One night as I drifted off I thought I saw a white shadowy figure at the end of the bed before feeling a push on my chest and a complete inability to move.

I thought I was going to be pushed through the bed, such was the pressure.

Science calls it sleep paralysis – a state we all sometimes go through from wakefulness to sleep.

Which explains the pressure and the non-movement, but what about the shadowy figure?

And it is those enduring mysteries (Stonehenge, min min lights, the Bermuda Triangle, ghost sightings) that make the world a wonderful place.

Supernatural sleuth Tim the Yowie Man, after hunting for explanations for strange occurrences for nearly three decades, is of the same belief.
