Walk or run with heroes and villains in super event

- Amy Lyne amy.lyne@thechronicle.com.au

NOT often will you find the likes of Darth Vader, Wonder Woman and Cruella De Vil in the same room working together for a single cause.

But that is exactly what they will do, along with many more characters, at the second annual Heroes and Villains Fun Run and Walk.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said the event was raising funds for the Toowoomba Hospital’s orthopaedic unit.

“It is a 2km walk or a 5km run and obviously it is all about exercise, it is about having fun with your family,” she said.

“We have actually even invited the dogs this year.”

The event, which raised about $5000 last year, will be held at the Toowoomba Anglican Preparatory School.

“This year we are aiming for about $6000 and this year the money is going toward the orthopaedic unit. They are going to have a whole team down here as well,” Ms Kennedy said.

“We encourage the community to come on down, meet the guys that you are fundraising for and just really have a great time.”

Ms Kennedy said last year there had been some great costumes and she hoped everyone would get in the spirit with prizes up for grabs for first place and the best dressed.

There will be free fruit and water available and healthy treats for purchase.

Registration fee is $10 for individuals and $20 for a family of up to four.

Register on the day or at trybooking.com/RAGM.
