Ibrahims held as cops raid 32 homes
JOHN Ibrahim’s Sydney home has been raided and brothers Michael and Fadi have been arrested as part of a major operation to dismantle international drug syndicates.
Authorities in Dubai, working with Australian Federal Police, swooped on the brothers of the “King of the Cross” in the street after dinner with Koder Jomaa, Mustapha Dib and Stephen Elmir.
They are now working on extraditing the five men who were in the UAE.
Police are investigating whether Michael and Fadi Ibrahim were involved in the importation of MDMA into Australia.
It comes as police raided 32 homes across Sydney yesterday and issued 52 warrants in one of the biggest attacks on organised crime in Australian history.
Among the 14 arrested to date are John’s son Daniel, 27, and Ahmad ‘Rock’ Ahmad, the brother of slain underworld figure Walid Ahmad.
Police were searching John Ibrahim’s luxury Dover Heights home and another nearby.
Detectives searched inside the house and surveyed his pool area as sniffer dogs looked through bush below his property. They searched an Audi in the drive. It is understood John Ibrahim was home but not arrested.
Police are investigating whether a known crime family was involved in the MDMA trade in a separate operation. A third syndicate was allegedly involved in smuggling illegal tobacco into Australia.
