A NEW festival will launch this weekend, with the promise to bring food, food and more food.

Crave Food Festival is hosted by the Mary MacKillop Catholic College P&F Association and will be held at the school grounds in Highfields on the second Saturday of every month.

The inaugural event will be held tomorrow from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

There will be 15 food vans operating and there will be no market stalls unrelated to tasty treats.

There will be gourmet pies, dumplings, smoked trout and doughnuts.

P&F parents will also be running a licensed bar.

Association member Emma Ehrlich said the college was always looking at ways to further foster the community.

She said they flagged the food festival as an exciting opportunity for the

Highfields and surrounding community to come together.

“We hope people come along, bring their picnic rugs and relax under the stars and twinkling fairy lights, while listening to some entertainers or watch the family friendly films on the outdoor screen,” she said.

“People can even participate in some old fashions games such as quoits, sack races and giant connect four.

“Families and friends relaxing and children playing and occupied- a recipe for a great evening out.”
