Good reports still coming in from Cooby and Cressbrook

- with Kris George from Fish ‘n’ Bits Bait & Tackle

COOBY DAM

COOBY this week has had some great reports, coming in mainly the bait side of things.

Saltwater yabbies and live shrimp have been getting good numbers of yellowbelly.

The bite period still seems to be late in the afternoon.

CRESSBROOK DAM

THERE’S still some great reports from Cressbrook this week.

Big numbers of quality fish have been getting caught throughout the dam.

The Cressbrook Creek arm still seems to be the pick of the spots.

Fishing spoons, tailspinners and Mask Vibes have been getting most of the fish.

Ice jigs are another great lure to catch big numbers of fish.

COOLMUNDA DAM

SOME quite positive reports have been coming in.

Fishing shallow structured areas with ZX Blades have been picking up good amounts of yellowbelly.

Some smaller cod up to 60 centimetres have been landed on spinnerbaits throughout the timbered area.

The trolling anglers have picked up some decent yellowbelly in the old creek bed on Smak hardbodies.

LESLIE DAM

YELLOWBELLY have been hit and miss this past week in Leslie.

Jigging ZX Blades and soft vibes have been getting reasonable results.

Also saltwater yabbies have come up with some good fish.

For the land-based

anglers, some good cod have been picked up from the bank this week on worms.

GLENLYON DAM

MIXED reports are coming in from Glenlyon this weeK.

With the cod beginning the spawning process it’s probably going to be the last chance of getting a good shot at catching a few cod until they finish breeding.

Casting larger spinnerbaits and mumblers in around the caves have seen a few good fish being caught.

The yellowbelly anglers are having good success on saltwater yabbies.

SOUTHERN MORETON BAY

PEEL island has been producing some great sized snapper the past few weeks.

Targeting these fish in reasonably shallow water with small soft plastics or pilchards will be your best bet.

WIVENHOE DAM

THERE’S still been a great edge bite at Wivenhoe this week.

Casting lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits have been producing some big bass in

some shallow water while the trolling anglers have had some great success with deep diving hard bodies in the main basin.

OFFSHORE GOLD COAST

GOLD coast offshore has been at its best with the

close in reefs producing quality snapper, jew and other reef fish, whilst out on the shelf the schools of yellowfin have been thick

along with plenty of striped and blue marlin that have been taking trolled skirts and live baits.
