Two sisters with one aim

The clever Su siblings want women to feel confident in their own skin

SISTERS are doing it for themselves, and that couldn’t be truer for the Su siblings, founders of Two Sisters The Label. With Ruby putting pencil to paper to create fancy frocks and Pauline steering the ship, they are the ultimate fashion empowerment duo.

“Two Sisters is all about making every girl feel confident in their own body,” Pauline says.

“We believe that what we create can make girls look and feel beautiful for their special occasion. Most of our designs follow the theme of ‘dreamy and whimsical’, which people love for events such as engagements, weddings and birthdays.

“We do occasionally throw in some dressy casual outfits that can go from day to night.”

Inspiration for the latest collection came from an unlikely place – turns out, Maggie Smith is a fashion icon.

“Our latest inspiration was actually from the show Downton Abbey,” Pauline says. “The old dainty Victorian style is what we had in mind when we designed this collection – the high neckline and eccentric lace detailings.

“They are all beautiful but definitely the Riverdale dress and the Dakota dress are a couple of favourites for sure.”

While this line was released during the cooler months, it’s not your typical winter collection.

“We design outfits that people can wear throughout the year,” Pauline says.

“During winter, our dresses can be layered up with a coat and some high knee boots and you are ready to go.

“Our dresses are all summer ready, all you need is a cute hat and a pair of sandals or heels.”

That trans-seasonal approach may have something to do with Pauline and Ruby’s international inspiration.

“We travel the world for design inspiration, and that is what makes us different,” Pauline says.

“The world is full of different cultures with their own unique style.

“We bring all these together and hope that every girl can express their own style through fashion.”
