Roos, Goondiwindi in possible final preview
AUSTRALIAN RULES: Coolaroo hosts Goondiwindi in what could be a preview of the AFL Darling Downs division one elimination semi-final.
The third-placed ‘Roos take on fourth-placed Goondiwindi at Gold Park on Saturday in the last round aiming to build momentum for the finals and push for a top two spot.
A Coolaroo win will give them a chance of replacing South Burnett in second spot.
Goondiwindi also has something to play for as the Hawks will be keen to compete with Coolaroo in a bid to prepare for a possible final, but also because a big loss in the last round could open the door for South Toowoomba to steal fourth spot.
Fifth-placed South Toowoomba is still a mathematical chance of making the finals but the Bombers need Coolaroo to beat Goondiwindi by a massive score and then beat second-placed South Burnett by a huge margin as well to see percentage decide fourth spot.
But if the games play to the form guide, Coolaroo and Goondiwindi will meet on Saturday in a semi-final preview.
Toowoomba Tigers also host minor premier University at Rockville Park.
South Toowoomba and South Burnett also clash in a women’s semi-final preview at Heritage Oval, while minor premiers Toowoomba Tigers tune up for the finals at home against Lockyer-Warwick.
