Third in court on shooting
A MAN charged with attempted murder over a Rangeville shooting last month has been remanded in custody.
Luke Anthony Scott did not appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court during a brief mention of the charge yesterday.
The 25-year-old, who has been charged with attempted murder arising from the incident last month when police claim a 20-year-old man was shot twice outside a Curzon St home, is being held in custody on unrelated matters.
His solicitor Brad Skuse (David Burns Lawyers) told the court he would be seeking an adjournment to September 14 to link up with his client’s co-accused Jackson Paul Edward McInnes who is due for mention in court on that day.
McInnes, 26, who police claim drove from the scene, is also being held in custody after being refused bail when he appeared before the same court last month.
Mr Skuse said he would need a police brief of evidence though he believed that most of the file would already have been done due to the charging of the other people.
A third accused, Ellanah Margaret Fay Wilson, 26, who is also charged with attempted murder, is due for mention in court on September 28.
Police do not claim Wilson was present at the time of the shooting but believe she may have facilitated the incident.
None of the accused as yet has been required to enter a plea to their respective charges.
There being no application for bail, Magistrate Catherine Pirie remanded Scott in custody and adjourned the case for mention back in the same court on September 14.
