SSAA TOOWOOMBA

We held our monthly shoot on July 16 on the 400m range of the Captains Mountain Complex. The event was falling chicken targets at 50m. We had a good turn-up and the shoot was unusual as we were using .22RF rifles. Each competitor had 25 rounds to down 12 chickens, and any ammunition left over was fired at the V-Bull, also at 50m. Each shooter was timed so that in the event of identical scores, the lesser time was adjudged the winner.

Scores were: GNS/180/5:31:31; RW/280/4:29:37; GS/240/6:23:54; FS/270/5:58:13; RC/280/6:51:37; RH/80/6:23/54; HW/280/3:46:07; GC/210/6:45:53; WI/200/5:46:53; AC/240/5:00:57.

The winner was HW who received a Billery Trophy. The Nasho Medal for July was won by RW.

The Carbine shoot followed with scores achieved: RH/30/1:24:82; GS/30/1:56:28; HW/20/1:45:69; GNS/110/1:14:50; FS/110/0:58:97; RW/50/1:10:93; AC/50/0:14:50; GC/10/0:33:30. First place went to FS and second place to GNS.

Our shoot on August 20 will be held on the 500m range and will consist of falling plates at 200m with C/F rifles. Any rounds left over from the plates will be fired at the V-Bull of a core-flute target. All competitors will as usual be timed.
