Animals really are Chloe’s best friends

BEING a pet groomer isn’t just about playing with animals all day.

And while Chloe Love, who works at the Pet Perfection Grooming Salon in North Toowoomba at the Northlands Shopping Centre, loves spending time with some really cute pets, she said there was loads of other stuff that came with the job.

“It’s definitely not just playing with animals all day,” she said.

Miss Love, 20, said once she walked through the doors of the store there was always something to do.

“We’re always kept busy,” she said.

“You’ve got to serve customers, take phone calls, take the dogs in and out, clip them, bathe them, dry them, walk them.

“Sometime we colour them too.”

During any one day, Miss Love said she would probably see about 20 to 25 dogs on average.

“They come in throughout the day. They don’t all just come in, in the morning,” she said.

She said the store had a few regulars and she enjoyed seeing the animals again and again.

“It’s a really enjoyable job,” she said.

“It’s really rewarding and you get a lot out of it.

“I love being able to make them feel better.

“So many come in in such a bad condition.”

Miss Love grew up in Toowoomba and said she still enjoyed living in the city.

“It’s easy to get around in and it’s a nice little place. The people here are relatively nice,” she said.

“Honestly, I’d wouldn’t like to live anywhere else.”

When she’s not at work at the pet groomers, Miss Love said she liked to spend time with her partner and her animals.

“At my place I have three cats and a dog and my partner Travis has one cat and one dog,” she said.

“Spending time with them is pretty much where my focus is.

“My partner adores animals.

“He’s just like me.”
