LBN announces exciting appointmen­t

THE Livestock Biosecurit­y Network is pleased to welcome Duncan Rowland to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Rowland is currently Executive Manager – Biosecurit­y and Product Integrity Services at Animal Health Australia, where he worked to strengthen the country’s animal health system since 2004.

His appointmen­t to LBN brings his considerab­le wealth of knowledge and experience in biosecurit­y, animal health and welfare.

LBN Chairman James Kellaway said Mr Rowland’s appointmen­t was a huge step in the right direction for the continued growth, and ongoing ability for LBN to provide excellence in biosecurit­y, animal health and welfare extension services.

“Duncan has already contribute­d a great deal to LBN in his capacity as Executive Manager at AHA,” Mr Kellaway said.

“His rapport with both LBN staff and directors and his understand­ing of LBN has him well placed to succeed as CEO.”

Mr Rowland begins as CEO in mid-October, marking a new era for LBN focused on creating enhanced partnershi­ps, fostering innovation, providing outstandin­g services to its stakeholde­rs and securing sustainabl­e funding.

“The LBN Board has the utmost confidence that LBN will continue to deliver value to its partners, stakeholde­rs and producers under Duncan’s leadership and with the ongoing contributi­on of its valued staff complement,” Mr Kellaway said.

Mr Rowland is excited to begin the role and is optimistic about the future of LBN as it builds a positive, proactive work culture and delivery framework, with a sole focus of providing excellence in service delivery to stakeholde­rs.

“I’m enthusiast­ic about the opportunit­y to lead LBN and

work with an incredible team,” he said.
