Students finish final year

MY FAVOURITE thing about St Mary’s is probably my mates. That is not limited to your own grade, you are mates with all the boys and the teachers.

My favourite subject is probably science. I do the three sciences.

I want to be doing medicine next year. I want to get a doctorate in medicine and go into research, hopefully genetics and research into cancer.

I have just always wanted to be a scientist, but in the past few years in the courses we are doing, we have learnt a lot about genetics and there are just so many unanswered questions around it.

I AM third generation at St Mary’s, so it is a family thing to be here, which is really nice.

My dad and grandfather went here, so I heard lots about it growing up.

My favourite subject is probably maths. I want to study engineering after school.

I want to get into civil engineering. For the past year I have been tossing up about which type of engineering, but I have got a job now at a civil engineering firm in Toowoomba as a draftsman, so I decided to go with that.

I was really lucky to pick that up. I got it through work experience.

I want to study next year in Toowoomba at USQ.

MY FAVOURITE thing about St Mary’s is the culture. The sporting culture and also how the younger boys and the older boys are not separated. We all get along.

My favourite subjects are accounting and biology.

After school I want to be a teacher. Probably specialise in accounting and physical education hopefully.

I want to be one probably because of the teachers who are here. I find that my footy coach, my mentor teacher and a few others around the school are role models.

My mum is a teacher too, so it seems like a good job to do.

Nick Joy

ST MARY’S is great actually. I love how I can do what I like to do. I am not the biggest sporty kid, I know that is what the school is known for, but I am really into the arts, music and drama.

I am one of the cultural captains as well, so it really gives me the opportunity to do what I like to do, as well as get a really good education.

Drama and economics are probably my favourite subjects.

I played Ryan in High School Musical at the start of the year and I have done a couple of other shows as well.

What I like about performing is the feeling you get, showing people what talents you have. It’s really just one of those feelings of joy I get when I do that sort of thing.

Next year, I am still trying to see what route to take, if it is uni or a gap year. At the moment I am leaning towards uni - probably in the drama, theatre, film world.

FOR ME, St Mary’s is really a sense of community. Coming to school you have really got that brotherhood there to support you.

My favourite subjects are sciences. I do the three sciences.

I am pretty scientifically inclined. I want to do medicine and maybe go into research.

Medicine for me, it’s an opportunity to really make a difference.

I know they say you can do that whichever way you go in life, but I know for medicine I can physically do that.
