Enjoy Emma and Liam’s home-grown love story

- BY HIA CHOWDHURY

It was the intrigue of beauty that led Liam and Emma to meet. Desperately wishing to meet her, an attempt at printing a document in front of her went awry for Liam.

Devising a Plan B, it was when he had filled up his water bottle in the front office when they met through Emma’s mother — Liam’s work colleague.

From acquaintances to friends and finally a couple, they realised their love for each other the moment the groom had left to work was when realisation struck — Emma couldn’t bear for them to be apart.

Alongside the reddish-orange hues of autumn on April 1 at Gabbinbar Homestead, the couple exchanged their written vows.

The couple had been together for three-and-a-half years before Liam proposed.

Liam booked a holiday on the Sunshine Coast for his proposal.

“He seemed so nervous before we went out to dinner but I never clicked on until we were ready to walk out the door and he got down on one knee,” Emma says. “Of course, I said yes!”

With a classic vintage colour scheme of dusty blue and ivory the couple were surrounded by roses and native foliage.

Emma walked down the aisle to Thank You for Loving Me by Bon Jovi.

Their musician, Andrzaj Fenner, played some divine acoustic tunes, delighting guests.

“Our wedding day was the most beautiful and memorable day of our life so far,” Emma says.

“Autumn is one of the most gorgeous times of the year in Toowoomba and it showed on the day — the weather was stunning [and] our day was full of so much love and laughter — most of our guests had travelled a long way to celebrate with us.”

The main highlight of the reception was seeing both the bride and the grooms’ families, as well as close friends celebrating, mingling, dancing and enjoying each other’s company.

When asked about the future, the couple explained that they look forward to many years of marriage, and have plans on travelling, renovation, adventures in the future and children.
