A BRAZEN robbery where crates of stock were taken from a Toowoomba café was caught on camera.

Security camera footage from Pump@123 in Russell St, clearly shows a man wheeling the stock away in the early hours of Monday morning.

Pump@123 owner Geoff Batzloff said his staff had gone to open the café about 5.30am to discover the cold room had been smashed open.

“At 2.45am he walked diagonally across Russell St to our shop,” Mr Batzloff said.

“He had a six-foot iron bar in his hand, smashed our side gate and he went to the back of the cold room and smashed it open.”

Mr Batzloff said after smashing open the cold room, the man then got about three empty crates and filled them with everything from meats to cheese before grabbing a trolley and walking it back down Russell St.

“The thing we couldn’t believe is how casual he was about it,” Mr Batzloff said.

“He stood at the back of the cold room and lit up a cigarette and when he smashed the cold room open he saw the camera, but it didn’t worry him.”

Mr Batzloff hopes the clarity of the footage and the man’s distinctive shirt will help someone identify him.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or a man walking down Russell St about 2.50am on Monday is encouraged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
