5 BARGAIN HOMES
Toowoomba shines for first-time buyers
IF YOU are looking at becoming a first home owner or searching for a cheap house to renovate there are certainly bargains to be found in the Toowoomba region.
While the region is home to many stunning residences here are five homes under $149,000 any home buyer could afford.
DESPITE the Toowoomba region’s reputation of having many stunning multi-million dollar homes, it is still an affordable place to live.
There are a number of cheap houses and units in the Toowoomba region at the moment, many under the median house price of $350,000.
Some are even $200,000 under the median house price.
A first home doesn’t have to be a complete dive, it’s all about potential.
A house hit the market on Wednesday night for offers over $149,000, making it one of the most affordable houses in the region.
The home at 35 Main St, Mount Tyson is just a 30-minute drive from Toowoomba.
It is an entry-level two-bedroom home on 1012sqm block and is ideal for first home buyers or investors.
It is big enough for a small family and has plenty of space for anyone wanting to
renovate.
Crestmont Realty Group principal and real estate agent Marc Phillips said it would be snapped up quickly.
“It only just went up. It will go really fast at that price,” he said.
“It is basic and needs a bit of work but you can rarely get houses on a decent block of land so cheaply.
“It is well under the
median house price but the owner just wants a quick sale.”
Mr Phillips just started his own real estate business after 10 years working in the United States as an agent.
“I’m located in Toowoomba but specialise in a number of areas,” he said.
“I have just snapped up a few houses in Oakey at the moment, an area I think has been unrepresented until now.”
Mount Tyson isn’t the only place home buyers can snap up a bargain with a number of houses under $150,000 just waiting for a new owner.
