Ridge 2 Ridge supports hospital

IT’S time to tie up those running shoes and get ready for the Marlene Studios Day Spa Ridge 2 Ridge running event to be held this Sunday, September 10 in support of the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.

Hosted by the Toowoomba Road Runners, and held at Middle Ridge Park Toowoomba, the event sees experienced and novice runners compete in a 5km, 10km or half marathon race.

The Marlene Studios Day Spa Ridge 2 Ridge is just one of three signature events held by the Toowoomba Road Runners which raise funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation to be utilised to purchase new equipment for the Toowoomba Hospital.

Club representative Andries Potgieter said the Toowoomba Road Runners was grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community.

“The Ridge 2 Ridge event remains a key highlight on the Toowoomba Road Runners calendar, and knowing that funds raised from the day will go to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation makes the day all the more exciting,” Mr Potgieter said.

“We are a not-for-profit organisation and we see donating to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation as the perfect way to give back to the community.”

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation chief executive officer Alison Kennedy said the foundation was extremely grateful for the ongoing support from the Toowoomba Road Runners.

“The Toowoomba Road Runners continue to be incredible supporters of the work we do at the Foundation with their support contributing to our efforts to purchase equipment for the Toowoomba Hospital,” Mrs Kennedy said.

“Last year, as a result of the Toowoomba Road Runners fundraising efforts, $3000 was donated to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.”
